A BIG thank you to Zillow. They have decided to recirculate my listing that sold 6 months ago and make it show active on their site again. I say thanks because I am getting new buyer leads from this listing. Unfortunately the buyers are not getting accurate information about available properties from Zillow anymore. You see, Zillow lost its contract with our local MLS about 9 months ago. The last time I did a 5 zipcode search, comparing Zillow Available/Active listings and the actual inventory available to buyers on our MLS, Zillow only had about 40% of the inventory.
You see, Zillow needs new, fresh, available properties to attract new buyers eyes. Then they sell those leads to their “Premier”, paying for leads, agents. Now, I’m not bashing this model. Zillow wants to make money and some agents will pay for leads (not me and my team), However, this is an injustice to buyers. In my opinion, Zillow really doesn’t care if they give the consumer accurate information. They just want the consumer to “inquire” through Zillow so they can sell that name and contact info to an agent.
